ABOUT US

What started as a speech in a high school Rhetoric & Persuasion class grew into Project Dogport, a student-led initiative to bring Westport its first fenced-in dog park.

Founded by Staples High School student Emme Dorfman, Project Dogport is working toward a simple goal: a safe, enclosed space where dogs can play off-leash and neighbors can connect. In a town of nearly 30,000 residents, Emme saw an opportunity to make a lasting difference for both dogs and the people who love them.

Through resident surveys, community conversations, and collaboration with town leaders, she is turning a classroom idea into a community effort.
